ZusammenfassungThere is a need to gain a better understanding of the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic among individuals with chronic diseases. The NAKO Gesundheitsstudie (German National Cohort, GNC) constitutes a rich epidemiological resource to obtain comparably results to investigate chronic conditions associated with health-related outcomes. The overarching aim of this proposal is to to examine the association between chronic diseases with SARS-CoV-2 infection and its long-term effects in the GNC complete baseline assessment. The specific aims are to: 1) describe to what extend individuals with chronic diseases received the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine 2) investigate the association between chronic diseases and the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection and, 3) examine chronic diseases in relation to long COVID and post-COVID-19 condition.
