ZusammenfassungMagnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a fast-developing imaging technique in healthcare settings. In recent years a couple of studies have been performed to investigate the potential of MRI in imaging oral diseases such as periodontal and endodontic diseases as well as implants. This study aims to evaluate the potential of MRIs acquired in the NAKO setting to develop an algorithm to automatically detect teeth and dental implants. If successful, this algorithm, shall be used to automatically count teeth and implants and investigate the amount of dental implants in the entire NAKO sample.
