ZusammenfassungDimensions of social location are frequently associated with non-response in epidemiological studies. As a result, unequal study participation among different population groups impairs representativeness. We argue that a critical reflection of participants’ social location from an intersectional perspective could serve as an important theoretical framework for describing representativeness of population-based studies. We will apply a novel method, called multilevel analysis of individual heterogeneity and discriminatory accuracy (MAIHDA), to calculate measures of discriminatory accuracy and proportions of non-responders among intersectional strata. Intersectional strata will be constructed by age, sex/gender, education, employment status, family status, and health indicators. We expect to be able to map proportions of non-response and estimate discriminatory accuracy of intersectional strata.
