SummaryRecent studies questioned the use of acetylsalicylic acid for primary prevention, whereas regular intake of acetylsalicylic acid in absence of cardiovascular disease remains a matter of debate. Currently, there is limited data on the use of acetylsalicylic acid in large epidemiological cohort for primary, but also for secondary prevention. In the present analyses we aim to investigate the use of acetylsalicylic acid for primary and secondary prevention in Germany.
