SummaryAs a key manifestation of the accumulation of health deficits during the aging process, frailty is closely associated with adverse health outcomes such as disability, hospitalization, and death. In the first phase of the project, different versions of the FI will be constructed using data on chronic diseases, physical function, mental health, and other health-related variables available in NAKO. In the second phase, the index will be compared and used to assess participants’ frailty status and its transitions during follow-up. We will then examine the associations of obesity-related indicators and body composition variables, such as body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, fat mass, and lean mass, with improvement, stability, or worsening of frailty status. This project is expected to be completed in approximately two years. The findings will help identify individuals at high risk of frailty progression at an early stage and provide a scientific basis for healthy aging and frailty prevention.
