SummaryPatterns of use of contraceptives (including oral contraceptives and intrauterine devices) and menopausal hormones have changed over time, and much of what we know about contraceptives and menopausal hormones and cancer is based on older formulations and patterns of use. Further, while menopausal hormones are often used prior to the onset of menopause, many studies on menopausal hormone use and cancer included only menopausal women. The proposed study will provide needed updated information on the associations between these common medications and cancer risk in women.
