SummarySkeletal muscle integrity is widely recognized in recent years to affect human holistic health. Glucose meta-bolic disorders, obesity, and muscle health are closely connected through a complex relationship, which remains incompletely understood. Therefore, this project addresses this critical gap and is expected to pro-vide valuable insights on the interplay of prediabetes/type 2 diabetes (T2D), sarcopenia/sarcopenic obesity (SO) and skeletal muscle mass and function, and the potential of future prevention of sarcopenia and SO, two conditions primarily affecting middle-aged and older adults, that are strongly related to muscle mass and function.
