SummaryIn order to assess the current significance of atrial fibrillation (AF) for public health in Germany, up-to-date population-based data is needed for various population groups. In particular, there is a lack of data on the frequency of unknown AF, inadequate anticoagulation, and the use of new anticoagulants. The aim of this study is to estimate the prevalence and incidence of AF as well as gaps in care depending on the sociodemographic factors of gender, age, education, region, and migration background in the NAKO. The planned project duration is 2 years.
