SummaryThis study explores how the design of our neighbourhoods affects how physically active people are in their daily lives. Using data from several large health studies across Europe, we will combine information about physical activity with detailed maps of neighbourhood environments to examine whether people living in more “walkable” areas are more likely to be physically active. The results from this study can contribute to our understanding on how urban design can support healthier lifestyles and inform future planning and public health policies across Europe.
