SummaryElevated levels of the liver-secreted proteins lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP), inter-alpha-trypsin inhibitor heavy chain H3 (ITIH3), and insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 1 (IGFBP1) have been observed in cancer cachexia, while the transferability of those hepatokines to cancer-independent (patho-)physiological characteristics are unclear. This project aims to investigate the association of those three hepatokines with muscle mass, fat mass, and muscle function in adults without cancer.
